About Me

Born in a culturally rich family, musician extraordinaire Piloo Bhattacharya, spent his childhood (grew up being) exposed to a variety of art forms – mother’s melodious vocals, father’s acting skills, his older siblings’ dancing, singing and acting.

Piloo’s dream had been to become a sportsperson; but under the musical tutelage of Ira Roy, Prashanta Sengupta, Arun Mukhopadhyay Piloo stepped into world of music. Later on, he came in close contact with musical stalwarts like Salil Choudhury, Abhijit Bandyopadhyay, Pijushkanti Sarkar, Swapan Basu, Murari Roychoudhury, Alok Roychoudhury, Utpalendu Choudhury, Kalyan Sen Barat and with their the guidance Piloo has been able to manifest his immense talent and skill in every corner of Modern Bengali songs.

Piloo Bhattacharya is a multi-faceted and talented artiste. He is equally at ease being a musician, actor, music director, playback singer, lyricist, script writer and a television anchor. All of his artistic abilities come to the fore when he is on stage - performing in his live shows. In his live performances Piloo presents to the audience a musical bouquet of Bengali Modern songs, Rabindra Sangeet, Folk songs, Traditional Bengali songs, Fun & Parody songs as well as his own compositions which he sprinkles with some unadulterated anecdotes and comic sketches. These special touches make his shows completely unique from the shows of other contemporary performers, and the audience experiences a wholesome entertainment.
